Rob Sheesley lives in Sarasota, Florida with his wife Lani, their german shepherds Delos and Doonagore and VIking cats, Ragnar and Floki. Lani and Rob spend summers at their home in rural western Pennsylvania on Lani's family's farm. The happily married couple are graduates of United High School in Armagh, Pennsylvania. Lani is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania and the Anne Anstine Excellence in Public Service program founded by Christine Toretti, former Chairman and CEO of the S. W. Jack Drilling Company. Rob is a graduate of Clarion University of Pennsylvania's Communications and MBA programs, Carnegie Mellon University's Cyber Security Leadership and Enterprise Architecture certification programs, Parris Island University and Marine Corps Engineer School at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. A United States Marine (1987-1991) and Desert Storm Veteran, Rob grew up in a blue-collar home in Appalachia Pennsylvania with his father, a coal miner and Vietnam War Army Veteran, mother a retired university secretary and housewife, and younger sister, Tara (Bernat). Raised in a Roman Catholic home by parents of modest means, conservative values, and a love for America, Rob is the first of twenty-seven grandchildren on both sides of the family to graduate from college with a bachelors degree and graduate degree. He left Pennsylvania in 1989 to begin his professional career at Electronic Data Systems, not for the love of technology, but rather the admiration of Ross Perot and his leadership philosophies. With over thirty years as a management consultant, technology executive, and United States Marine, Rob and Lani continue to travel the world, having visited over 40 U.S. states and 19 countries, enjoying the beauty of horizons and people, informing and broadening their perspective on humanity and the socioeconomic challenges of the twenty-first century, as well as issues facing the citizenry of America and the global community, and sharing the Word of God and Gospel of Jesus Christ as opportunities present themselves.They recently completed a trip to Iceland with their son Andrew.
Rob and Lani’s oldest daughter McKenzie is a 2017 graduate of Clarion University of Pennsylvania, an award winning Division II soccer player, and a 2022 graduate of Lewis University. She is currently employed as a nurse at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA). Their son Andrew, a U.S. Navy Veteran, is employed as a fleet manager for a commercial gas company while pursuing his online BS degree. Their youngest daughter, Eden, serves in the U.S. Air Force Reserve and works as a logistics manager for Mitsubishi Electric. Proud doesn't begin to describe how Lani and Rob feel about their adult children.
Rob serves on the board of directors for Bump Search/Bump Social, a next generation search engine and social community platform, on the advisory board for RemotelyMe, on the advisory board for GeorgiaCIO, on the Executive Advisory Council for InspiredU Atlanta, on the PA Region 13 Counter-Terrorism Task Force, and on the Business Advisory Council for the Eberly College of Business and Information Technology at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of Veterans Leadership Program and Board of Directors of Access Community Health Network in Chicago, . His interests include travel, writing, reading, religion, skiing, golf, Chicago Cubs baseball, Pittsburgh Penguins hockey, and spending time with family and friends.
